Construction/atrocities
A view from the butler's kitchen window.
Notice (if you can get past the neighbor atrocities: home of the dograpes and mystery hole) there's a diggin' machine?! The abandoned lot that was finally cleaned up a few months back is now under construction. A 'luxury 3fam home coming soon" sign was tormenting us for months. When? Just how luxurious?! So it begins. I bet people are livng there by June. As 'Shit' gets built fast nowdays.

Winter?!
Ok, wtf!? Tulips this far along on Feb. 4th?
Also: buds on the rose bush, the hydrangea, trees and green shoots on the day lillys and other various plantings. wil they actually survive if we get some real winter? It is only early February for the luvagawd.

the house with the "wine room"
arthur and I cracked up over this listing on foxtons. I was just checking back while trolling the web to see if it was still for sale - and low and behold it is under contract. This makes me sad. I wonder if the buyer knows what's up. This house is on a pretty awful block - really pretty downtrodden. I don't know what it sold for but i hope it was way under the asking price. the picture doesn't make it look so bad -a and the slide show shows potential - so maybe i'm wrong. the market is really crazed. but it is attached to a piece of falling downness. the description on foxton's claims that there is a 'wine room' but anyone who would scroll through the slideshow would wonder how that could be. there is no furniture in any of the rooms, except beds with no sheets and a kitchen table. by wine room did they mean crawl space, or rat den, or speed lab? sorry. that's mean. but foxtons - - come on!!

what am i?
this is on the way to the relic shack....it has been abandoned for the past 2 years as far as i can tell. well, pigeons and rats are probably living in it now. What is it???!! My guess is a Jehovah's Witness meeting hall. That's all I can come up with. It's kind of awful/fancy. Location in warehouse zone. Very odd. Very odd.
yellow house

chez fairy butler
Here you go Sloth. This feels a little weird, posting this here, but it may explain my fixation with old, goofy brick buildings. This pic is old from a couple of years ago. so no more for sale sign and the lot on the right is now paved (sort of) so it is a little less sanford and son. this is where the dogs are - sometimes the dog rapes, etc. Now we have flower boxes on the fence - obviously empty at present. ghosts steal the flowers sometimes. anyway, our place is a hobbit hole on the inside - there's an addition on back and stuff that you can't see from the front (which is just as well). undecover of the night.

the developers must be high
arthur pointed out this listing on craigslist for a new place around the way from us. It looks like crap and the asking price is 725,000. Are these people insane?

taking pictures
Okay, I brought my camera with me yesterday afternoon. On my way to the shack there were several photo opportunities... but there are too damned many people around to stop and take pictures without drawing too much attention to myself. It's making me crazy. I thought I could perhaps sneak some in that evening on my way home but no. Every time I spied something good there were people standing around near it and I can't afford to stop for too long. Or else strange-os will come out - I had one guy ask if he could 'walk with me a while' last night. You see what I am talking about. Plus my camera is the size of my head which does not make it subtle, the picture taking. So.. i will be posting more pix but I may have to go out with Arthur for protection. I will cross post on phantastic to alert. Because I am sure that you don't want to miss this upcoming, exciting stuff.
